The Tulip Pinafore is created using double knitting (DK) wool and designed for children aged 3 to 6 years old. The skirt features a tulip motif and a reverse stocking stitch hemline adds subtle texture, while the delicate bobble pattern is echoed again around the neckline and straps.
Design: The hemline has a reverse stocking stitch and bobble pattern which is also repeated around the neckline. The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together. Buttons are added to the front to fasten the dress to the straps.
Sizes: Instructions for 4 different sizes: 3, 4, 5 and 6 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool. The picture shows the outfit knitted using Sirdar Snuggly Cotton DK in shade 751 (Sky Blue).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 4.0 mm (USA 6) straight needles are required.
