This baby cardigan is worked seamlessly for a smooth, comfortable finish with a pretty scallop edging. The back and fronts are knitted together in one piece from the lower edge up to the armholes, creating a clean body with no side seams.

The sleeves are worked separately, each knitted from the cuff up to the beginning of the yoke. At the armhole depth, the sleeves are joined to the body so that the entire yoke is worked in one piece, shaping the neckline and shoulders without interruption.

Once the yoke is complete, stitches are picked up along the front edges to form neat, functional buttonbands that frame the cardigan beautifully.

Design:  The back and front is worked in one piece up until the armholes.  The sleeves are started separately up until the yoke and then joined on the same needle as back/front to complete the cardigan in one piece for the yoke.  Stitches are picked up for the buttonbands.
