Create our Sleigh Ride Teddy Tank Tops which feature a sweet teddy bear wrapped up in a Christmas jacket and hat, sitting proudly on a sleigh gliding across the snow.
The pattern includes two neckline options—a classic round neck and a smart V‑neck—allowing you to choose the style that suits your project best. Both versions are knitted in double knitting (DK) wool and are designed to fit children from 6 months to 3 years old.
Design: The front and back are worked separately from the bottom-up. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and the armhole edges. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes: The pattern includes 3 sizes: 6-12m, 1-2yrs and 2-3 years old.
Yarn: Double knitting wool required (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the tops knitted using:
Stylecraft Special DK in shades French Navy (1854), White (1001), Lipstick (1246), Camel (1420), Mustard (1823), Mocha (1064) and Black (1002).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
