Dress, Bonnet and Blanket to fit a doll 38-46 cms or 15-18 inches

Knitted using double knitting wool

Design:

The Dress has a ladder pattern design and wavy hemline.  The front, back and sleeves of the Dress are knitted separately and then slipped onto the same needle to complete the yoke.  Stitches are picked up for the bands at the back and fastened with press studs. The pattern also includes a matching Bonnet fastened with satin ribbon and a Blanket.

Sizes:

1 size to fit doll 15-18 inches or 38-46 cms.

Yarn:

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply). You will need:

Wool required for the Dress and Bonnet:

1 x 100 gram ball of Main shade DK wool – shown as pink or green

1 x 100 gram ball of Contrast DK wool – shown as white

Wool required for blanket:

1 x 100 gram ball of Main Shade DK wool – shown as pink or green

1 x 100 gram ball of Contrast DK wool – shown as white

Skill:

Intermediate.  Written instructions provided. 

Tension:

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

Needles:

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles

Other requirements:

4 press studs/fasteners/poppers for Dress

Stitch holders

Satin ribbon for Bonnet
