Knit our dolls clothes suitable for size 38-46 cms/15-18 inches. The Bodysuit has twisted rib edges and a raindrop pattern, created on a reverse stocking stitch background.
The matching Hat is topped with a pompom and has snug earflaps that sit gently around the face. An optional crochet edging can be added for an extra decorative touch or left plain for a simpler look.
Design: The bodysuit and hat have a reversed stocking stitch pattern and single twisted rib edging. The bodysuit is knitted on straight needles as one piece to the yoke where the sleeves are joined in. Stitches are picked up to complete the opening at the back. The hat is finished with a crochet edging, but this is optional.
Sizes: 1 size to fit doll 15-18 inches or 38-46 cms.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)
The picture shows the outfit knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shades Flamingo (057) and White (001). You will need 2 x 50 gram balls for the main shade and 1 x 50 gram ball for the contrast shade.
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
3.25 mm crochet hook (USA size D).
