About the Pattern

This festive children’s jumper features a cheerful penguin wearing a classic Christmas hat with a pompom. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, it has ribbed edges at the neckline, cuffs, and hem for a stretchy, shape‑keeping finish. A three‑button shoulder opening makes dressing little ones easy and comfortable. The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.

Design Details

  • Intarsia penguin motif

  • Chart provided for the motif

  • Three‑button opening at one shoulder

  • Ribbed cuffs, hem and neckband

  • Worked bottom‑up in separate pieces (front, back, sleeves)

  • Stitches picked up to complete the neckline

Instructions include four sizes:

  • 0–6 months

  • 6–12 months

  • 1–2 years

  • 2–3 years

Knitted using double knitting (DK) wool. Suitable alternative for international knitters is USA light worsted or Australia 8 ply.

  • Flamenco (0242)

And Stylecraft Special DK:

  • Mustard (1832)
