Design:
The front has a snowman motif. The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up and the raglan seams sewn together. Stitches are picked up for the front opening button bands. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes:
The pattern includes 4 sizes: 6-12m, 1-2yrs, 2-3 yrs and 4-5 years old.
Yarn:
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the jumper knitted for size 4-5 years using Stylecraft Special DK shades: Green (1116), White (1001), Red (Lipstick 1246), Dark Grey (Graphite 1063) and Orange (Jaffa 1256).
Skill:
Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension:
22 sts and 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles:
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
Other requirements:
4 buttons (size 15mm)
(optional) small crochet needle to help pull yarn through when making pompom
