Matinee Jacket, Pinafore Dress and Bonnet

Also suitable for a premature or newborn baby

Knitted using double knitting wool

Pattern is written in English

Knitting pattern is sent as a digital download PDF

Design:

The outfit has a pretty lacy design and picot edging.  The front, back and sleeves of the Jacket are knitted separately, then slipped onto the same needle to complete the yoke.  Stitches are picked up for the buttonbands. The back and front of the Dress are knitted separately and sewn together.  Also included is a pattern for a matching Bonnet.

Sizes:

2 sizes to fit doll 30-36 (38-46) cms or 12-14 (15-18) inches.   Also suitable for a premature (newborn baby).

Yarn:

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply). You will need 1 (2) x 100 gram balls of the main shade and 1 (1) x 50 gram ball of contrast shade.

The pictures show the outfit knitted for the larger size using Stylecraft Special DK in shades Mushroom (1832) and White (1001).

Skill:

Intermediate.  Written instructions provided.

Tension:

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

Needles:

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles

Other requirements:

4 (5) buttons for Matinee Jacket

2 buttons for Dress

Ribbon for bonnet

Stitch holders
