About the Knitting Pattern

The Christmas Bear Jumper is a children’s sweater designed to fit from birth to 3 years old and knitted using double knitting (DK) wool. The front features an adorable bear face wearing a pompom Christmas hat. A practical three-button opening at one shoulder ensures easy dressing for babies and toddlers.  The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.

Design Details

The front, back and sleeves are knitted separately before seaming. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. A chart is provided for the intarsia bear motif.

Sizes

The pattern includes six sizes:

·       0–3 months

·       3–6 months

·       6–9 months

·       9–12 months

·       1–2 years

·       2–3 years

Skills Level

Intermediate. Written instructions, but you will also need experience working from a chart to complete the motif.

Yarn

Designed for double knitting (DK) wool. Suitable alternatives include USA light worsted or Australian 8‑ply yarns.

The jumper shown knitted in Stylecraft Special DK shades: Turquoise (1068), White (1001), Red – Lipstick (1246), Black (1002), Light Brown – Walnut (1054), and Dark Brown (1004).

Needles

• 3.25 mm (USA 3) and 4.0 mm (USA 6) straight needles

Other Requirements

• 3 buttons

• Stitch holders
