Create our Christmas Teddy Jumper which features an adorable teddy bear motif on the front, dressed in a festive jacket and Santa hat for a cheerful seasonal look. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the sweater is designed to fit children from 0–3 years and includes a practical three‑button opening at one shoulder, making dressing and undressing easy for babies and toddlers.
Design: The front has a cute motif of a teddy wearing his Christmas jacket and hat. The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. One shoulder has a 3 button fastening to make it easier to lift the jumper over the child’s head. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes: The pattern includes 4 sizes: 0-6m, 6-12m, 1-2yrs and 2-3 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The jumper shown in the main picture is for size 6-12 months and knitted using:
Stylecraft Special DK shades: Turquoise (1068), Lipstick (1246), White (0251), Mocha (1064), Camel (1420) and Black (1002).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
Other requirements:
3 buttons (size 15mm) for Jumper opening
2 small buttons (size 10mm) for Teddy’s coat
