A festive jumper for children 3 to 9 years old and featuring Rudolph the Red‑Nosed Reindeers around the neckline, each with their bright red bobble nose. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the jumper is finished with ribbed edges at the neckline, cuffs, and hem, giving a tidy, stretchy fit that holds its shape beautifully.
Design: The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes: The pattern includes 4 sizes: 3-4, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)
The jumper shown in main picture is knitted using:
Stylecraft Special DK shades: Red (Lipstick 1246), Camel (1420), Brown (1004) and Black (1002).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
