Knit our festive blanket featuring charming Rudolph the Red‑Nosed Reindeer motifs, perfect for adding Christmas cheer to any room. The design is worked by combining basketweave stitch squares with Rudolph motifs, before being sewn together to create a striking patchwork effect.

The textured basketweave squares add depth and structure, while the Rudolphs bring a playful character with their friendly faces and bright red noses. A moss stitch edging frames the blanket, giving a finish that lies flat and complements the textured centre.

For extra comfort and warmth, the blanket is completed with a stocking stitch backing, creating a soft, smooth underside that makes it ideal for snuggling through the winter months.

DesignThe blanket has cute Rudolph motifs and basketweave stitch squares which are knitted in 5 strips.  The strips are sewn together to form the blanket and the moss stitch edging is added by picking up stitches on each side.  You will need a 3.25mm circular needle for the edging (but you knit back and forth in rows) or longer length 3.25mm straight needles. To complete the blanket is a plain stocking stitch back which adds extra warmth and provides a lovely finish.  The front and back are sewn together.

SizesThe finished size is 79 (H) x 89 (W) in cms or 31 (H) x 35 (W) in inches.

YarnThe pattern uses DK wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the Blanket knitted using: Stylecraft Special DK shades: Red (Lipstick 1246), White (1001), Camel (1420), Dark Brown (1004) and Black (1002).

SkillIntermediate.  Written instructions provided, but experience needed of working from a chart for the motif.
