The Ruffled Lace Sundress is a summery knit for little ones aged 6 to 24 months and worked in double knitting (DK) wool. The skirt features a delicate lacy pattern that gives the dress its airy movement and a frilled hemline that adds a fluttering finish. The bodice is neatly shaped and edged with a crochet trim around the armholes, straps and neckline.
Design: The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together. Buttons are added to the front to fasten the dress to the straps.
Sizes: Instructions for 4 different sizes: 6m, 12m, 18m and 24 months old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the outfit knitted using Sirdar Snuggly in shades Biscuit (522) and White (251).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
