This jumper features an adorable teddy bear dressed in a festive Christmas hat and jacket, riding happily on a sleigh across the front. Worked in double knitting (DK) wool and designed to fit children from 0–3 years old, it includes a practical three‑button opening at one shoulder to make dressing easier and ribbed edgings at the neckline, cuffs, and hem for a comfortable fit.
Design: The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. One shoulder has a 3 button fastening to make it easier to lift the jumper over the child’s head. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes: The pattern includes 4 sizes: 0-6m, 6-12m, 1-2yrs and 2-3 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)
The jumper shown in main picture is for size 1-2 years old and knitted using:
Stylecraft Special DK in shades Silver (1203), White (1001), Lipstick (1246), Camel (1420) Mustard (1823), Mocha (1064) and Black (1002).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
