The Lacy Snowflake Dresses are designed to fit children from birth to 7 years old. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the pattern includes both a short‑sleeved version and a sleeveless style, making it perfect for year‑round wear and layering. The skirt features a beautiful lacy snowflake design, creating a light, airy look and moss stitch edgings frame the bodice and hem to add gentle structure, while a button‑band fastening at the back ensures easy dressing and a comfortable fit.
Design: The front and back are knitted separately and sewn together. The moss stitch neckband is added by picking up stitches. Stitches are picked up for the button band at the back. You then have the option of either short sleeves which are knitted separately and sewn onto the dress or picking up stitches for a moss stitch armhole edge band.
Sizes: The pattern includes 6 sizes to fit child: 0-6 mths, 6-12 mths, 1-2 yrs, 2-3 yrs, 4-5 yrs and 6-7 years old
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)
The picture shows the outfit knitted using Rico Baby Dream DK Uni in shade Pink (003) for Short Sleeved Dress and Grey (017) for the Sleeveless Dress.
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided.
Tension: 22 sts and 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) buttons for each dress
