The FlowerSun Dress is designed for children aged 3 to 6 years old. Worked in double knitting (DK) wool, the dress has a picot hemline with moss stitch edgings while the skirt features a flower motif pattern.
The bodice is shaped for a comfortable fit, with strap openings fastened by buttons for easy dressing. Whether layered over a t-shirt in cooler months or worn on its own in warmer weather, this pinafore is a versatile piece that children will love to wear.
Design: The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together. Buttons are added to the front to fasten the dress to the straps.
Sizes: Instructions for 4 different sizes: 3, 4, 5 and 6 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
Sundress shown in the main picture show the outfit knitted using Rico Baby Cotton Soft DK in shade 047 (Smokey Rose).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 4.0 mm (USA 6) straight needles are required.
