About the Knitting Pattern
A festive baby and toddler jacket featuring cheerful Santa Claus motifs on both the front and back. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, this design includes a beautifully textured cabled yoke and fastens neatly with three buttons at the yoke. The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.
Design Details
The back, left front, right front, and sleeves are worked flat separately up to the yoke. All pieces are then joined onto a single needle to complete the cable design across the yoke. After finishing, the sleeve and side seams are sewn together, and stitches are picked up along the front edges to knit the button and buttonhole bands. A chart is provided for the Santa motifs.
Sizes
The pattern includes two sizes:
6–12 months
18–24 months
Skills Level
Intermediate. Written instructions are provided, but you’ll need experience working from a chart for the motifs and using a cable needle for the yoke.
Yarn
Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool. Overseas equivalents: USA Light Worsted / Australian 8‑ply. The jumper shown uses:
Sirdar Snuggly DK — Pastel Blue (0321), White (0251), Flamenco (0242), Black (0312)
Rico Baby Classic DK — Light Pink (Powder 038)
Needles
3.25 mm and 4.0 mm straight needles (USA 3 and 6)
Other Requirements
1 cable needle (size 4 mm)
