The Watermelon Romper and Hat are worked in double knitting (DK) wool and designed to fit dolls 31–46 cm (12–18 inches). The romper features variegated ribbing and an attractive mock cable yoke pattern that adds gentle texture. The matching Hat completes the set with ties and pompoms, echoing the watermelon theme in colour and texture.

DesignThe back, front and sleeves of the Romper are knitted separately and sewn together.  Stitches are picked for the neckband and leg borders. Also included is a matching Hat with 3 pompoms. 

SizesTo fit 2 sizes of doll: 31-36 (38-46) cms/12-14 (15-18) inches.  Or premature (newborn) baby.

YarnThe pattern uses double knitting wool.  An alternative for international knitters would be Australian 8 ply or USA light worsted. 

SkillIntermediate.  Written instructions provided. 

Tension22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

Needles:

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

1 pair of 4 mm double pointed needles for i-cords on hat

Other requirements:

6 buttons

3 press studs(poppers/snaps)

Stitch holders
