About the Knitting Pattern

The Albie the Elephant Jumper is designed for little ones from newborn to 3 years old. Worked in double knitting (DK) yarn, this sweater features a baby elephant motif on the front and classic double ribbing at the neckline, cuffs and hem. A practical three‑button fastening at one shoulder makes dressing your child simple and comfortable. The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.

Design Details

The front, back and sleeves are knitted separately before seaming. You will pick up stitches to work the neckline. A chart is provided for the elephant motif.

Sizes

Instructions are included for four sizes:

  • 0–6 months

  • 6–12 months

  • 12–24 months

  • 24–36 months

Skills Level

Intermediate — written instructions are provided, but some experience is needed to work from a chart for the motif.

Yarn

This pattern uses double knitting (DK) wool. (Overseas equivalents: USA light worsted / Australian 8 ply.)

The jumper shown in the main image is knitted using:

  • Rico Baby Classic DK

    • Cream (002)

    • Light Grey (031)

    • Orchid (052)

    • Anthracite (032)

Needles

3.25 mm and 4.0 mm straight needles (USA sizes 3 and 6)
