Knit our Cat Motif Jumper designed for newborns up to 3 years old. Worked in soft double‑knitting yarn, the star of the design is a cute white kitty motif sitting proudly on the front, completed with simple embroidered features. The sleeves add playful contrast with bold, clean stripes, making the whole sweater feel cheerful and modern. A three‑button shoulder opening ensures easy dressing for babies and busy toddlers, while the ribbed cuffs, hem, and neckline keep the fit snug and tidy.
Design: The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. One shoulder has a 3-button fastening to make it easier to lift the jumper over the child’s head. A chart is provided to complete the cat motif.
Sizes: The pattern includes 6 sizes: 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-9m, 9-12m, 1-2yrs and 2-3 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the sweater knitted for size 24-36 months using Robin DK in shades Turquoise (281), White (040), Black (044) and Emerald (091).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
Other requirements:
3 buttons.
