Knit our Bunny Motif Jumper suitable for children from 6 months to 5 years old. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the sweater features an adorable bunny motif on the front complete with a pompom bobtail. The jumper is worked flat in pieces with raglan sleeves and a four‑button side opening at the front which makes dressing simple, especially for younger sizes. Ribbed cuffs, hem, and neckline give a neat, classic finish while keeping the jumper snug and well‑shaped.
Design: The front, back and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom-up and the raglan seams sewn together. Stitches are picked up for the front opening button bands. A chart is provided to complete the motif.
Sizes: Includes 4 sizes: 6-12m, 1-2yrs, 2-3 yrs and 4-5 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The jumper shown in the main picture is knitted using:
Sirdar Snuggly DK in shades: Green (Choo Choo Train 419), Brown (Puppy 521) and White (251).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
Other requirements:
(optional) small crochet needle to help pull yarn through when making pompom
4 buttons (size 15mm)
