Knit our Two Little Rudolphs Cardigan which is suitable for little ones from birth to 2 years. Worked in double knitting wool, it features two little Rudolph the Red‑Nosed Reindeer motifs on the front, each with bright red noses. The cardigan has a round neckline, ribbed edgings, and a button‑fastened front, giving it a timeless, easy‑to‑wear shape.
The body is knitted in one piece up to the armholes and the sleeves are knitted separately and sewn in.
Design: The front and back of the cardigan is knitted in one piece until the armholes. The sleeves are knitted separately and sewn in. Stitches are picked up for the neckband and buttonbands. A chart is included to follow to complete the Rudolph motifs.
Sizes: 4 sizes included to fit child: 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 and 12-24 months old.
Yarn: The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the jumper knitted using Robin Bonny Babe DK in shade Cream (1366) and Robin DK in shades Mink (143), Latte (142), Red (042) and Black (044).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
