The Wavy Edged Pinafore Dress is designed especially for babies and toddlers aged 6 months to 2 years old. Worked in double knitting (DK) wool, the dress has a wavy hemline with garter stitch edgings while the skirt features an easy-to-knit repeat pattern.

The bodice is shaped for a comfortable fit, with strap openings fastened by buttons for easy dressing.

Design:  The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together.  Four buttons are stitched on to the front.

Sizes:  4 sizes included to fit a child: 6m, 12m, 18m and 24 months old.
Yarn:  The pattern uses double-knitting wool. An alternative would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply for international knitters. 

The picture shows the outfit knitted using Sirdar Snuggly DK in shade 0439 (Little Bud) and shade 0251 (White).

Skill:  Intermediate.  Written instructions. 

Tension:  22 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles:  Size 3.25mm and 4mm (USA sizes 3 and 6) needles are required.
