Create our Flower Pinafore Dress for little ones aged 6 months to 3 years. Knitted using 4 ply wool, the skirt has a cute flower motif pattern and moss‑stitch frames the neckline, armholes, and hem. The shoulder straps fasten with buttons which makes dressing easy. Perfect for layering over a long‑sleeve top or worn alone in warmer months.
Design: The dress has a flower pattern to the skirt and moss stitch edgings. The front and back are knitted separately and sewn together at the sides. Two buttons are stitched on to the front straps.
Sizes: 5 sizes included to fit a child: 6m, 12m, 18m, 2yrs and 3 years old.
Yarn: The pattern uses 4 ply wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA Sport or Australian 5 ply).
The picture shows the outfit knitted for size 2 years using King Cole Big Value Baby 4 Ply in shade Cappuccino (3262).
Skill: Intermediate. Written instructions provided. A chart is provided to follow for the flower motif.
Tension: 28 sts and 36 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 3.25 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles: Sizes 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm (USA 2 and 3) straight needles are required.
