Designed to fit dolls 41–46 cm (16–18 inches) and knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the dress has a classic herringbone skirt and a gentle wavy hem that gives the dress a soft, flowing finish. The bodice and sleeves are framed with garter stitch borders, adding balance to the delicate patterning below.

The dress fastens at the back with a garter stitch buttonband. Each piece — front, back, and sleeves — is knitted separately and sewn together.

SizesIncludes 2 sizes. To fit doll 41 (46) cms or 16 (18) inches.

YarnThe pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the outfit knitted using Stylecraft Special DK in shade 1080 (Pale Rose) and shade 1001 (White).

Skill:  Intermediate.  Written instructions provided. 

Tension22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

NeedlesSizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles

Other requirements:

3 buttons

Stitch markers

Stitch holders
